Walk up Coniston Old Man past fascinating remains of slate quarries and coppermines. Enjoy a sail on a Coniston launch or the steam yacht Gondola, visiting the Ruskin Museum to learn more of Donald Campbell and Ruskin's beautiful house at Brantwood.

year-long festival programme, Thursday market, Coronation Hall theatre and
Laurel and Hardy Museum celebrating Stan’s birthplace. Barrow-in-Furness is a
Victorian townscape with strong seaward influence and boasts the Dock Museum,
Furness Abbey and the nearby South Lakes Wild Animal Park.
